Zamek krzyżacki, pl. Zamkowy, Kętrzyn, 1 maja 2013 r.
Zamek został wybudowany przez zakon krzyżacki w latach 1360-74. W XV w. kilkakrotnie przechodził z rąk krzyżackich do polskich i na odwrót. W 1525 r. zamek stał się siedzibą starosty i wkrótce nastąpił okres przebudowy zamku. Kolejne przebudowy miały miejsce w XVII w. Na początku XX w. w zamku znajdowały się mieszkania oraz urzędy. Budowla została spalona przez Armię Czerwoną po zajęciu miasta w 1945 r. Odbudowę przeprowadzono w latach 1964-66, przywracając zamkowi gotycki charakter. W zamku mieści się obecnie biblioteka oraz Muzeum Regionalne.

The castle was built by the Teutonic Order in 1360-74. In the 15th century the castle several times changed ownership from the Teutonic Order to Poland. In 1525 the castle was assigned for the seat of the local authorities and soon period of remodelling took place. Following remodelling came in the 17th century. In the early 20th century in the castle there were several flats and offices. The building was burnt by the Red Army after taking the town in 1945. The reconstruction took place in 1964-66 restoring the Gothic order of the castle. Today a library and a regional museum are located inside.
